The kids are sick. Bleh.
Geez, I started this post about 2 weeks ago and all I got down was one line. Now, the kids are all better and I'm the only one that's still sick. Nola had a bad ear infection and a fungal diaper rash and Embry had a double ear infection, they took some antibiotics and were all better. Tony got a cold type thing (which is very weird for him) and he's feeling normal again. I got a double ear infection with a ruptured right ear drum. They're both still draining, but the left is much better and the right one I still can't hear out of. My PCP is sending me to an ear, nose, throat specialist because I guess sometimes they actually do patch up the eardrum, but it seems that most of the time they just let it heal on its own...which it should. In the meantime I just keep saying, 'What?!' a lot because I can't hear people! This can actually come in handy sometimes though, like today we went to a movie and the gentleman behind us was making some weird snoring sound when he breathed (but he wasn't asleep) and I couldn't hear it until Tony had me specifically listen for it. Then it was annoying. I've also left my blinker on quite a bit because I can't hear the little ticking that goes along with it. So now I'm almost done with my second round of antibiotics and it seems to slowly be getting better (ie, less drainage).
In other news, I'm having nightmares about being really fat. I think this was brought on by looking through some pictures from after I had Embry when I was a good weight and feeling so incredibly disgusted by how I look now. It's really unfair that I did NOTHING to put on this weight and yet I am the one who will have to work really hard and kill myself to lose it. I stopped having soda in the house and have I lost any weight, nope, in fact, I think I've gained some. That's really motivating.

15 Weeks Old
Nola is 15 weeks old (or there abouts) and today was her first Valentine's day. I'm sad to say, we did nothing special except for the fact that I dressed the girls up and took pictures. Couldn't let the day go by without photos!
Nola is sick. She's got the cold that the rest of us have. Confirmed by the ped this morning and of course making me feel like I was wasting everyone's time by being paranoid, but whatever. She'll cough and cough for like 5 minutes straight and turn all red, it was concerning me. I also mentioned how she spits up EVERYTHING. I swear, she consumes maybe 10% of what she eats, it's ridiculous. So the ped gave us a sample of formula that has rice cereal stuff in it to see if it will stay down better. 3 feedings and 5 soaked bibs later, I'm gonna go with no, but I'll keep trying. Although, good news, when I was in the appt, I got a voicemail from my old OB saying that she got my note and she would call again until she actually got to talk to me. YAY!
I'm still sick with this cold thing, or whatever. I'd say it's more like sinus infection/bronchitis. I just finished my antibiotics today, so hopefully I'll stop snotting all over soon. Embry is also still sick, but not nearly as bad as before and she's about halfway done with her antibiotics for her ear infection. I got in to see the main hospital dr tomorrow and to give more blood for the hematologist (which hopefully the lab won't mess up this time). Then I need to sign forms to get all my medical records from st joe's hospital sometime too. I'm not complaining, but I am SO TIRED. I told Tony today that I needed to go to bed at 5:30. Now of course it's 9:30 and I'm still up, but you get the idea.
Oh funny story. So I can kinda pick embry up now, like to my waist height, but it's really difficult. So we went to a friend's bday party at a restaurant on Sat night. She was totally fine until I tried to leave. I had my purse, her backpack, and tony's burger in my arms. Then she decides to lay down in the middle of the walkway (inbetween the soda machine and the condiments), close her eyes, and say 'I go sleep now, ok?' I had to laugh. It was pretty hysterical. I got her to stand up a couple times only for her to get back on the floor and do the same thing over again. Then finally I picked her up and hauled her out the front door, no easy task, and scolded her. Needless to say, she went straight to bed when she got home.
Oh and Tony's surgery on Friday went very well. The most painful part seemed to be getting shot with the lidocaine air gun. And, bonus, I got to watch! Ok that sounds weird, but I love stuff like that, surgery that is, or medical procedures in general. Interesting stuff and oddly, Tony wouldn't let me take a picture of him with the drape over his lap. I can't for the life of me figure out why ;)

32 week pics

taken 9/25/10
Embry got sick last night. Her fever was about 103, then at around midnight she threw up. I brought her into our bed while Tony cleaned up and went to sleep in the guest bedroom to avoid getting sick and she threw up again. She's been eating pretty normally today and hasn't gotten sick again, but her fever is still lingering so we've been giving her a pedialyte/gatorade mix along with alternating ibuprofen and tylenol. Hopefully she'll be all better by tomorrow and we could all use a good night's sleep tonight. My next NST is on Monday (I cancelled the one for last Thurs) and I also have another dentist appt on Monday. Joy. Oh yes, so eating a cinnamon roll during MOPS on tues, the back 1/4 of my temp root canal crown broke off and I swallowed it. The remaining portion was extremely sharp and was slicing into my tongue. I called the dentist who got me in 'after hours' on Tuesday to place the permanent crown on. So Monday they'll be drilling etc a tooth on the other side and putting a temp crown on it. Hopefully this one will last longer than 4 days before breaking.

I think we're all better...
I cross my fingers while saying that because I hope it doesn't come back to bite me. Embry and I have been sick the past weekend. She started with diarrhea on Thurs, then threw up on Fri (luckily I heard it coming and held her over the tile floor for easy cleanup). She still had diarrhea/eating issues till now (Tues). Then Sat overnight I was up all night vomiting and laid in bed pretty much all day Sunday. Tony watched Embry most of the day and cleaned a bit since his grandpa was on his way out here. Yesterday I was feeling almost all better and today I think both of us are doing A-Ok. We're both eating normal food and acting like our normal selves. Yay! Although, now Tony says he's feeling a little 'off', but he never actually gets all the way sick, he's got a good immune system. I am slightly worried about baby bean after being sick. I'm hoping she didn't suffer and ill effects from the virus. :/
Tony's grandpa arrived yesterday. He drove a van out here full of Tony's dad's tools for his job. It sounds like Tony's dad might be renting part of a duplex up near his job starting the beginning of May, but it's not exactly a for sure thing yet.

Bad Dreams
Apparently I'm a little more concerned about this pregnancy thing than I would let on. Last night I had some of those dreams where when you wake up in the morning you think it really happened. In my dreams I kept going to the bathroom and seeing lots of blood. I kept wavering between thinking 'maybe it's just normal spotting, it doesn't mean anything' and 'I'm almost 7 weeks, this isn't supposed to happen' and 'why did I tell all those people, this is ridiculous.' So when I woke up, I thought that's what happened and was really upset. Once I got up, I went and checked and everything was fine thank goodness.
So in other news, I've been feeling somewhat nauseous, but no puking at all. I called the dr's office about moving the U/S up and they said they were waiting until they got the preauthorization from the insurance to call the U/S place and see if they could get it moved sooner. I'm not good at waiting for things, as you can tell, I'm a little worried about things. I'm trying to take a nap everyday when Embry takes a nap because I'm exhausted. Although this means my house is in a perpetual state of disarray. Oh well.
Embry's been whining a ton lately, it's driving me bonkers. I have no idea what to do about it and it just doesn't stop. We've implemented time out in her rocking chair with straps. We ask if her she wants to go to time out when she's being bad and she shakes her head and says 'no' then usually walks away. We just put the dining room chairs back around the table and so far she hasn't gotten on the table again, but I'm assuming it's only a matter of time. That will be a rough day. Oh, she had another ear infection and she's almost done with her antibiotics now. She's feeling much better. She's repeating a lot more words now too, it's kinda fun.

Dealing
So I think now I'm setting myself up for a huge letdown. It's really a double edged sword because now I know that we can conceive in a 'normal' amount of time, but I'm going to be even more disappointed if I don't conceive again this month, or next month, or the next month etc. I've hardly taken any pictures over the last few weeks, so obviously, something's up!
Update on the sickness. Last Wed-Thurs I was sick in bed again. Same thing as last time, so Tony worked from home on Wed to watch Embry. Although he had to leave that night which left me to watch Embry in our room from the bed. I felt so bad because I had to throw up again while I was watching her and of course she came with me and starting crying when she saw I was sick. :( Poor baby.
I took Embry in for her 15 month check up yesterday. She's 31.5" tall and weighs 21lbs 6oz. That puts her about 80% for height and 35% for weight. I also saw the dr for my stomach issues while I was in there and he thinks it's my reflux. I find it hard to believe that reflux can have that sort of effect, but we'll see. So he's just increasing my prilosec. Bleh, I hope this helps.
