Embry Turns 5!

Embry's birthday was a lot of fun for all of us!  We went to see 'Thor 2' at the theater in the morning.  I was a little nervous on taking Nola since it's live action and has some fight scenes etc but she did great!  They both loved it and of course Tony and I did as well.  Then we drove up Mt. Lemmon and had a pizza at the cookie cabin for lunch and walked around to see the fall leaves, take some pictures, and the girls played in a very very cold stream.  It was a beautiful day.  Then Embry wanted to eat at 'noisy ball Mcdonalds' (one with a new play area) for dinner so we did that and then when we got home had cake and Embry and Tony finished building the Daily Bugle Lego set.  A good time was had by all and now I have a 5 year old! Eeeeeeek!

Super Duper Birthday Bash

Embry and Nola's super hero themed birthday party was really fun to set up and the girls had such a good time!  It was quite a busy few days for me, and I didn't get eveyrthing done that I had wanted to initially, but it turned out great none-the-less.  I especially liked the super hero city (boxes that were covered with black plastic table cloths and windows glued on out of cardstock) which I put Dorothea to work on while she was down for the weekend.  We got a big jumping castle with a slide to put in the backyard and my mom and brother worked really hard to add on monkeybars to the swingset in time for the party.

Nola Turns 3!

Nola was in a bit of a funk on her 3rd birthday, but we still managed to have a great time.  We started out by going to see 'Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2' at AMC Theater at the Foothills mall (because I had giftcards).  Then we had lunch in the food court from Nola's choice which was Panda Express.  We let the girls play in the play area for a bit before heading to the Marana Pumpkin Patch for the afternoon.  It was a little hot for my taste, but it was a fun experience with lots of things to do and see.  The girls had a great time except when I tried to get Nola to stand by a cardboard cut out of a scarecrow and she freaked out on me...haha.  They really enjoyed jumping (and sliding down) the awesome jumping pillows and we picked out some fun pumpkins to carve later.  A good day was had by all!
